How to complete the questionnaires

Completing the questionnaires in the planner

(*This is all translated into BSL on the next few pages!)

This is a great time to think about what you want to get from your programme. So today, I’d like you to think about where you are starting from and what you actually want. You can do this using the questionnaires contained in the 14-Day Detox Planner.

Let’s start with your vision.

Figuring out what you want for your health (and your life) is really important. Without this vital piece of information nailed down, you will never know whether you have achieved your goals.

Visioning is a very successful way of making your goals more tangible.

When athletes train for events, they mentally rehearse and ‘see’ themselves performing at their best.

This will move you towards your goal more quickly and easily. Take some time to do some work on creating your own vision. The exercise in the 14-Day Detox Progress Journal will help you answer these questions:

What do you really want? List what you would ideally like for your health, well being and lifestyle.

How will your life be changed by achieving it? How will you look? How will you feel? How will life be different for you?

Why do you want this?

I want you to list at least three reasons here.

What other benefits are there of achieving it?

Who else will benefit?

Think of it like this: when you drop a pebble in a pond, there is the initial plop, but then there are the ripples. The ‘plop’ is the immediate benefit to you. The ripples are the benefits of the benefits.

Consider that when you make changes to your health, it changes how it feels to be you. And then that new, ‘improved’ you starts showing up differently in the world. You interact with people differently. They interact with you differently. All kinds of other things happen when you regain your confidence and feel truly great being in the skin you’re in!

Now let’s look at the questionnaire ‘What’s Your Detox Potential’?

Answer each of the questions with a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’. Then add up the number of yeses. If you answered ‘yes’ to 5 or more questions, there’s definitely scope for real improvement by following this detox programme.

If you answered ‘yes’ to 3 – 5 questions: You are beginning to show signs of your body needing some detoxification support.

If you answered ‘yes’ to 0 – 3 questions: Even those who experience few (if any) signs of impaired detoxification will benefit from giving their body a health boost once in a while!

Don’t worry about the score. It is whatever it is right now, and that’s why you’re here.

The next exercise is with the ‘Health & Energy Score’

This will help you get clear on how energised (or otherwise) you feel when you start the programme.

You’ll use the questionnaire to say how you agree or disagree with specific statements about your health. You’ll see that these range from being tired most of the time or having difficulty sleeping right through to having cravings for sweet things after meals or needing tea/coffee to get you going in the morning.

Add up your score. In each section, you would ideally have a score of 14 or less.

I’m guessing that what came up for you is a very similar scenario for most people: low energy, cravings, mid-afternoon slump, poor sleep and too much caffeine.

Where you are right now is just the starting point. We will do this exercise again at the end of the programme to see just how far you’ve come. In just 14 days, things will look very different.
